Hello my name is Karen Mohr and I teach kindergarten at Live Oak. I am so excited to start a new year and the adventures that await all of us! I started my teaching career in Campbell Union School District where I taught for 15 years in the early elementary grades. I continued to grow in my profession and love starting the children off with a great foundation in their learning and finding their place in the classroom. I have enjoyed the community that I live in, so I applied and started my teaching in the San Ramon School District. I taught kindergarten at Twin Creeks for 4 years, and then moved over to open up a brand new school very close to here, Quail Run Elementary, where I taught kindergarten for 2 years. I love the energy involved in opening up a new school, so I decided to do it again here at Live Oak Elementary! I know we will all make a difference in the lives of the children that enter our doors here at Live Oak and I can’t wait to help lead the way with my colleagues, parents and students. We will learn and grow together. Let’s Go Golden Eagles! |

I am so excited to be at Live Oak Elementary! In Kindergarten, I strive to provide a well-balanced program to support the whole child.
It is important that children learn the necessary academic and social skills to help them become productive, happy individuals who contribute positively to society. Kindergarten is the place where this process begins. Together with your child, we will learn and grow each day. I have been teaching Kindergarten for 12 years, 4 years with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. I was previously with Union School District in Los Gatos. I am fortunate to work with such a supportive and compassionate staff at Live Oak!

![]() | This is my fourth year as a teacher in the San Ramon Valley school district. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and received my teaching credential and MA-Education degree from Chapman University. I am proud to be a part of the Live Oak learning community. The humor, honesty and inquisitiveness of young learners make teaching one of the most rewarding professions I know. My goal is to create a classroom environment of mutual respect, where students are encouraged to problem solve, work cooperatively and speak with confidence. I’d like to help them foster a “can do” attitude toward any goal they hope to achieve. Linda Yan |
